CeX, all the offers at your fingertips

Since founded in 1992, the UK-based CeX has evolved into numerous stores globally (including Spain and Mexico) to boost its successful day-to-day operations of specialising in the repair of technology, DVDs, computers, and more.

About CeX

With branches in the UK, Spain, Ireland, India, Australia, Portugal, Netherlands, Mexico, Poland and Canarias, CeX is committed to offering all trading customers either cash or a voucher in any CeX store.

The history of CeX

CeX was founded by 6 friends back in 1992, London. With just three grand between them, the friends shared a dream and a belief that, somewhere in the UK, there’s a bubbling second-hand market for computers, video games, technology and applicable gadgets. And as they couldn’t find one, they opened one themselves – and it became a convenient retailer where you could quickly pick up a second-hand oldie (still in good condition) for next to nothing.

This new venture went by the name of 'Tottenham Court Road Computer Exchange' and was opened in a small shop in Whitfield Street. This became the go-to spot for anyone looking for cheap second-hand games and phones, exclusive US- and Japanese imports, plus various computer- and technological bits and bobs.

Met with overwhelming success and a huge supply and demand, the business soon had to open a second shop (in Rathbone) a year later and a Birmingham branch (the first outside of London) in 1997.

And then came WeBuy.com – the first website dedicated to custies (the affectionate nickname for CeX’s loyal customers) looking to buy and sell. Today, whether you’re in the market for an old ps4 or a brand-new Xbox series, look no further than CeX’s online store.
