In its heyday, Butlins operated 10 hoilday camps in the UK and Ireland, as well as one in the Bahamas and several hotels. Today, three of the original camps stay open, making Butlins the last bastion of the tradtional British seaside holiday camp.

Butlins was founded by Billy Butlin to provide ordinary Britsh families with affordable holidays.
The first Butlins holiday camp was built in Skegness in 1936.
