About One Stop

With excellent prices on food, drink and household items, One Stop used to be the UK’s only Tesco shop format without the word ‘Tesco’ in the name. This changed in 2018 with the arrival of the first Jack’s store.

The brand, as well as the original shops, was part of the T&S Stores business, but kept their old name (unlike numerous others that were changed to Tesco Express). Interestingly, many shops bought by Tesco and which were converted to the One Stop brand have Tesco Bank branded cash machines.

The history of One Stop

One Stop Stores Limited, the chain that’s owned by Tesco Plc, used to be known as T&S Stores. After Tesco acquired all of the stores (in 2002), half were converted to the Tesco format while the rest stayed as existing One Stop stores.

Today, the majority of One Stop branches are in Wales and England. In order to meet local customers’ daily demands, all stores are open 7 days a week, regardless of whether you’re in Rugeley, Hollingworth or London.

Cut to December 2010, when One Stop bought no fewer than 77 stores from the Mills Group, aiding in the brand’s commitment to evolve and expand the business. This step actually boosted the number of One Stop shops in Wales and England to just below 600.

Today, the One Stop branch is as strong as ever. With hundreds of branches and thousands of employees, the brand continues to grow and impress with its services, including online shopping, delivery services, etc.
