History of Currys
Currys was founded in 1884 as a bicycle shop by Henry Curry. The Currys we know and love today emerged from the takeover by Dixons in 1984. Before the takeover, Currys stores were mostly large superstores located in out of town areas. After, Currys stores began to appear in a smaller format in high-street locations. Today, most Currys stores are branded as Currys PC World or Currys Digital and there are a total of over 350 Currys PC World and Currys Digital stores throughout the UK.
The best way to keep in touch with the latest Currys clearance sales and promotions is to check the excellent website and shop online. And the cherry on top: if you choose to collect your order in store you may be able to pick it up that same day (if it’s in stock). Free next day delivery is also available on over 1000 products. A Currys student discount is not currently available, but if you register as an online customer you’ll receive news on sales as soon as they start. Currys discount codes seem to be few and far between, but keep checking online, especially around Christmas and Black Friday.
